Netherlands

AMSTERDAM: Fom Brussels Belgium, we took the short train ride to Netherlands.  The main train stop is at Schipol Airport. Luckily for us, the hotel was just a short walk, a couple of buildings away.  The airport is only a short 20 minute train ride to downtown Amsterdam.  It was a rainy day and we HAD to do laundry so we gathered our things and went to find a laundry mat downtown Amsterdam.  We found one about 3 blocks from the train station.  We did the laundry, ate and then went back to hotel. We were too tired to stay in the town at night.  It wasn’t until the next day that we walked around to see the town. Especially the red light district.  Fascinating place really.  The working girls are in very little windows/doorways to speak to their prospective clients.  They don’t really let you take any pictures.  There are warnings everywhere.  Anyway, there really is not that much too do in Amsterdam unless you like prostitutes, drinking and smoking weed at one of the “coffee shops”.  We did get to visit the torture museum and the Anne Frank house.  All in all, it was a good short visit.

We had time to go see the Anne Frank house and take the tour.
