France

PARIS: On our way to Rome, Marcy and I stopped in Paris for a couple of nights.  When we landed we only had time to take a walk around the Louvre at night and go get a night picture of Notre Dame Cathedral.  We stayed at the Best Western two blocks from the Louvre Palace. On the way back we stopped and had a cup of coffee a café.  I made the mistake of having 2 cups of coffee which was really like 4 cups since they make it like small espresso.  I didn’t go to sleep until 4 AM!

One of our first things to do the next day was to walk the famous Avenue des Champs-Élysées.  The Champs-Élysées ends at the Arc de Triomphe, built by Napoleon Bonaparte to honor his victories.  The avenue is one of the most famous streets in the world and the 2nd most expensive rents in Europe. Average rent is $1.5 million per 1,100 square feet.

On the way to the Eiffel Tower, we got some pictures of the Statue of Liberty (the other Statue of Liberty that is much smaller in Paris).  We went to the Basilica of Sacré-Cœur.  A beautiful Catholic church located on the highest spot in Paris.  Lastly we found a small Dali museum close to the basilica.  If you know Marcy, you know we can’t pass up a Dali museum! It was a nice little stop in Paris!
